Two Worlds
In partnership with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Northwest Florida, Pensacola Opera created a program two years ago to reach out to area deaf and hard of hearing youth.  Last year these youth wrote and performed a piece entitled Two Worlds which focused on the need for understanding and communication between the hearing community and the deaf and hard of hearing community. This year, the project will produce Silent Salzburg by Richard Medugno, which deals with the treatment of deaf and other disabled people during Nazi Germany’s reign at the UWF Studio Theatre.  Proceeds from this production support the programs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services f Northwest Florida.
