FROM WORDS TO MUSIC
Recommended for grades 2-8
Program Dates: September 2016 – May 2017

Each year, Pensacola Opera partners with classroom teachers from select schools to incorporate opera in their classrooms by bringing a book to life.  Working closely with both classroom and fine arts teachers for the nine month program, our teaching artists lead teachers through a creative process whereby students generate their own original dialogue and music based on chosen literature.  Pensacola Opera even provides a budget for materials and supplies.

From Words to Music will boost your students’ confidence by improving their reading, writing, composing, and performance skills. By fostering a creative environment, students use the arts as a tool to propel their academic success.  The culmination is a final performance for their peers, families and community.
